iOS Security Key App Release Appears Imminent [UPDATED]

Thanks once again to the sleuthing of AAJ reader @Asros, we have a glimpse at the future Star Wars: The Old Republic security key app for Apple’s iOS.

It appears to be available on this regional iTunes store, though not currently in the US. This may just be a function of Apple’s approval process, or the release process for Electronic Arts. The physical keys are widely expected to begin shipping on December 15th, so the iOS app (and other platforms) may be available the same day.

It’s worth mentioning that players who make use of a security key on their account also get access to an in-game vendor for special items (picture below).

[UPDATE] After digging through the Security Key page, we were able to learn that not only the iOS version will be available, but also Android and BlackBerry by the discovery of these hidden badges. So users of platforms other than iOS, not to worry!

  1. But alas, no Windows Phone app :(

  2. Just wanted to say that the way the appstore works, the app will be released everywhere tomorrow or tonight at midnight if you will.

  3. That’s quite nice.

Now I need to know what Android devices they are planning on supporting, or else I need to buy the physical key.

  4. Hope the Android app is close aswell

  5. Why would they do an iOS app before Android? I mean come on, half the Android Phones out there are Droid branded. They’re far more Star Wars-y. :P
