[RESCHEDULED] Scheduled Maintenance: January 17th, 2012 – Game Update 1.1 – Rise Of The Rakghouls

[UPDATE #2] Good news!Game Update 1.1 has been rescheduled for tomorrow morning, January 18th at the same time it was originally planned for this morning:

Hello everyone, we wanted to let you know that we have rescheduled weekly maintenance for eight hours on January 18th, 2012 from 2AM CST (12AM PST/3AM EST/8AM GMT/9AM CET) until 10AM CST (8AM PST/11AM EST/4PM GMT/5PM CET). This downtime is in preparation for our first major game update, Rise of the Rakghouls! All game servers and SWTOR.com will be offline during this period. This maintenance is expected to take no more than eight hours, but could be extended.

Get ready to wake up to some Rakghouls tomorrow!

[UPDATE] Game Update 1.1. has been postponed. Read the following from BioWare’s Amber Green:

Hello everyone! Because we care about ensuring that Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ provides you with a consistent and quality game play experience, we will be postponing weekly maintenance this week. Downtime was originally scheduled for Tuesday, January 17th, 2012 from 2AM CST (12AM PST/3AM EST/8AM GMT/9AM CET) to 10AM CST (8AM PST/11AM EST/4PM GMT/5PM CET) and will now occur at a later date due to issues requiring additional testing that have been discovered with the Game Update 1.1 content on the Public Test Server.

It’s that time again, folks. What time, you ask? Why, time for the BioWare Customer Service droid to make his presence known on the eve of another scheduled maintenance period, of course! But it’s not all bad. As a matter of fact it’s good!

When BioWare brings down the servers tomorrow, they’ll come back up with a shiny new patch and the first content update for Star Wars The Old Republic: Game Update 1.1 – Rise of the Rakghouls!

This content patch features a new Flashpoint – Kaon Under Seige – that looks to bring some gripping action, story and visuals to the party. There are also loads of fixes coming as well, perhaps most notably to Ilum. Also coming this week, during the maintenance as well, we suspect, are some forum tweaks that will provide somewhat of a server community (albeit without actual server forums).

The downtime is currently scheduled from 2:00AM – 10:00AM Central Standard Time.

So while the game and SWTOR.com may be down tomorrow for maintenance, Ask A Jedi will not be (I hope ;) Stay tuned for patch notes, and spend some time here with us while you wait for your server to come back up to slay some Rakghouls!

  1. It’s not the update I was looking for so I am eager to hear news about what the march(?) update is going to be.

  2. Jedi Hunter says:

I hope they get a ‘mini’ content patch between this 1.1 one and the one in March (1.2?). The classes and PVP need help before March. Also tons of more bug fixes.

  3. And here I was looking forward to the Kira bugfix so I can continue to play my Knight. Boooh ;)

  4. I am glad Bioware was able to catch some problems with the content patch and can fix them before they hit live. I would much much rather wait for a high quality content patch than have another eternity vault fiasco. Great job to Bioware and the players on the public test server.

    • A view that is seldom held by others. Why is Blizzard allowed to take their time, but when someone else takes their time to make sure it’s quality they’re reprimanded.

      Here, here Pashtun.
