Patch Notes: 1.0.2d – Flashpoint Fixes And Modding Exploit

This morning, BioWare performed a short scheduled maintenance period to apply a small client patch, 1.0.2d. This patch was originally scheduled for last Tuesday, but was postponed for undisclosed reasons. Appears to just be some small but important bug fixes. The notes follow below.

You can always catch the latest patch notes as well as an archive of past patches onĀ BioWare’s official Patch Notes page.

1.0.2d Patch Notes 1/12/2012

  • Fixed an exploit that allowed the removal of Armoring item modifications that were not intended to be available for removal on Artifact quality items.

Flashpoints and Operations

Flashpoints

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented players from resetting their active Flashpoint.

  1. WOW, what a ton of fixes!! It’s mind boggling!

  2. Bugger. I had, perhaps naively, hoped the delay was in order to roll out 1.1 already. Ah well, next week hopefully.

  3. When are they finally going to fix the chest loot bug?
It’s a pain in the ass.

  4. Chris Grooms says:

There are so many high priority fixes that should get more attention rather than these very low priority fixes. I understand fixing exploits, but we’re seeing very little high priority fixes (actually I can’t recall one since Early Access). There are issues such as the serious LOS bugs in Taral V and a wipe causing all players to crash when they resurrect on the first boss, the issue with preferences settings not sticking still (although the dark side appearance bug was supposedly fixed but I can’t confirm this right now), etc. That’s a tip of the ice berg. There are serious issues that should be addressed long before things like this.

    • And what, pray tell, makes you think these are not also being looked at, but may not be so simple that a quick fix is possible? Players not being able to reset their active flashpoint is something that should be fixed regardless of the existence of other issues. It probably even had higher priority than Taral V, considering it appears it affected all flashpoints, not just a single boss in one of them.

    • Bioware has already made a statement about people like you that whine about everything that is NOT getting fixed yet. They said some of these fixes were in work even before release so they get rolled out sooner. It does not mean priority has been placed on these versus other issues. Some bugs are much more complex to fix than others. If you are sick of a bug then don’t play the content that has the bug that annoys you until you see it is patched. If you are not happy with their speed in addressing the issues then maybe you shoudl become a developer so you can understand exactly the level of work that goes into these fixes.

    • I can’t believe that they haven’t fixed the 2 bugs in Eternity Vault. end game is going to make or break this game. Having to clear trash after each attempt because you have to reset the instance is fail. I would hope these would have been addressed by now:(

      • Never had to reset our EV after an attempt. I just wish they would fix the Operation Plague that randomly kills members of our Ops group while running to bosses…

      • The number of players currently running EV is probably quite low compared to other activities in game at the moment. While i don’t know for sure, I’d say that makes it slightly lower in terms of priority.

        • While I completely agree with the fact that the number playing in operations is low right now, it is going to be a HUGE subscription loss very quickly if players get turned off by bugs in end game content.

Right now Annihilation droid does not always come down after defeating the towers at least on normal mode…we had to reset about 4 times. On gharj, after a wipe you are not able to enter the instance again as it says players are still in combat, you have to reset AND clear all the trash again.

Your right, not many players are raiding yet, however this will be HUGE if it is not fixed soon, such a turn off.

          • Oh i don’t disagree with that. And as we’re nearing the 30 day anniversary, more and more people are getting into EV and similar content. I’m sure it’s important to them, but priorities have to be set somehow.

  5. They are working on the major bugs just harder to fix. But if they fix smaller bugs and don’t patch it right away I think that would be wrong. I think its great they are patching a lot. Its just going to make the game even better.

  6. The game is young. There are going to be bugs to squash. It looks to me like they are taking them out as fast as possible without causing a decline in quality for the vast majority of players.

I’ve been quite impressed with the limited downtime experienced so far.

So much better than several MMO’s I’ve played which tells me BioWare learned its lessons from other companies well.

Now if only they’d fix the exploit of low level players camping lock boxes on Ilum. I’ve reported several over the past few weeks and have gotten thankful responses from BioWare each time.

However, it wasn’t until yesterday that I had an idea on how to cut down on this issue. (At least in the short run.) I propose that players under the level range for the planet Ilum (50-50) be flagged for pvp combat. Perhaps Characters at or above 48. That way the player base who should actually be there can help BioWare out a bit by killing these campers.

Er….was that too darkside of me? (+100 Dark Side Points)

    Dang…there goes my light side V rating….
