TOR Wins MMO Game Of The Year From GameSpy

In what shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, especially to readers of Ask A Jedi, GameSpy announced that their choice for MMO of the year is none other than our beloved Star Wars: The Old Republic.  They had this to say about TOR:

Whether playing as a member of the Republic or the Empire, as a Jedi, Sith, or any of the other classes, our staff was sucked into SWTOR by its well-written storylines — storylines we likely would have glossed over if they weren’t delivered with a staggering amount of recorded dialogue. Add in BioWare’s signature dialogue trees and the element of choice, and we’ve become fully immersed in SWTOR unlike any MMO before it.

Receiving an honorable mention in the category was RIFT. While the awards overall top honor, Game Of The Year, went to the well-deserving Skyrim, you can rest assured this is just one of the first top-of-the-chart showings for Star Wars: The Old Republic. The game has only been out a week, remember?

For what it’s worth, it’s our pick for MMO of the year as well. :)

  1. Okay I love this game I’m about to cancel my WoW subscription for the third time in 4 years, with no current intent to start it back up seeing how i haven’t even seen the sign on screen since I got my early access email on the 18th of Dec. But lets be frank, this game had been officially released for 15 days out of 365 of 2011 as much as I love this game I think its a little ridiculous to call it MMO Game of the Year I know there will probably a lot of other comments in outrage after mine about oh how awesome the game is yada yada yada I get it re-read my comment I love this game I just think its a little ambituous to call it Game of the Year when its only been out for OFFICIALLY 10 days. And don’t leave any “its just that good” comments lol it’ll just be redundant. Thanks!
