Remaining Crew Skills Fully Revealed
Thanks to our bud Swtorcrafter over at Swtor-Life, we learned that BioWare has ninja-updated the Crew Skills page, revealing the remaining crafting, gathering and mission skills!
For many fans, this is an exciting step forward, as the Crew Skills system represents what can truly be one of the innovations that TOR will bring to the genre.
Here’s the full list for your convenience, or you can hop on over to the official page to check ’em out!
Gathering Skills include:
- Archaeology – the ability to seek out imbued items like Lightsaber crystals and ancient artifacts
- Bioanalysis – the practice of collecting genetic material from creatures and plants
- Scavenging – the art of recovering useful materials and parts from old or damaged technology
- Slicing – a skill in accessing secured computer systems and lockboxes to acquire valuable data and rare schematics
Crafting Skills include:
- Armormech – the ability to work with hard metals and electronic shielding to construct all types of personal armor
- Armstech – the skill of constructing blasters, blaster rifles and upgrades
- Artifice – the delicate work of constructing Jedi and Sith artifacts
- Biochem –the engineering of performance-enhancing chemical serums and biological implants
- Cybertech – the technical expertise to construct gadgets and components for Droids and high-tech armors
- Synthweaving – the art of creating lighter outfits and armors that are imbued with supernatural qualities
Mission Skills include:
- Diplomacy – the art of conducting and managing negotiations
- Investigation – the skill of examining evidence and following clues to discover valuable secrets
- Treasure Hunting – the ability to track down and recover valuable items by investigating a series of clues
- Underworld Trading – expertise in the trading of illegal goods and services

Wish they would give a little more detail about what each one does. Nice that they officialy released the info even tho it was released by a magazine a while back. Info is info i guess.
Yeah it’s nice to see them officially announced but some more in-depth description or at least gathering skill dependency for each crafting skill.
But yeah :D a welcome update.
Holy ninja update! Awesome stuff here. It’s going to be hard to narrow those options down to just 3…

We have all rean across references to the lists but now we can start chatting about specific questions, etc without worrying about a last minute change.
Pure speculation follows:
So i would guess gathering to support crafting as:
Archaeology >> Artifice
Bioanalysis >> Biochem
Scavenging >> Armormech and Armstech (maybe Synthweaving)
Slicing >> Cybertech
It kind of makes sense that Scavenging would support all three of those, as it seems like it will be used to gather pieces of metal and similar materials. Those materials can be used in blasters or heavy armor. I’m not sure about synthweaving though. It could be like in WoW where there’s no gathering system for Tailoring and it’s built on drops — but that can be problematic. Since we’re limited to one crafting skill, it might work just as well to tie it to Scavenging as well. Though that would make scavenging a VERY lucrative skill, since half of all crafting skills would use it.

I am always worried when one gathering supports more than one profession, as it creates more competition for certain nodes. This might not be as much as a problem, because it does look like its a mix of found nodes and nodes created by killing. The sad point is Bio-Analysis is also the same way and its only leveraged by one crafting channel.
So lets hope we don’t have node issues with farmers right out of the gate.

I am so happy they went with this list of skills, and I am very glad they finally made it public so we could talk about it. Got the list from one of those leak sites like 2 months ago but was afraid to say anything on our site about it until it was “official”

so what do you think about Slicing and the receiving of schematics …. will they be ones only you can use, will they all be BOE, BOA, etc?
on the official companion skills page i saw a picture of the level each one was in and in it it had one from crafting one from gathering and one from mission skills and i was wondering if maby you can choose two crafting and one gathering????
or if you need a certain gathering skill for a crafting skill or do you just have random materials you can use
