Blue Milk & Cereal: Should There Be Cross-Faction Cooperation?

Even during times of great conflict between the Republic and the Empire, situations that threaten both factions occur. Maybe an alien cult is building a weapon that will render space fleets obsolete. Maybe an unknown race launches a chemical weapon that spreads a plague throughout the galaxy. Both of these scenarios threaten the Republic and the Empire equally, and each group would have to plan their own response to the crisis.
If such an event threatened the existence of the galaxy, cooperation between the Republic and the Empire would make sense. However, since each of the two groups is essentially seeking the other’s destruction, my opinion is that both groups would rather operate independently than cooperate with the enemy.

That would actually be really cool… it should be rare, but would be epic if used in the right dosage..
What would be really cool if there was a cooperative questline/raid encounter which ended in a PvP encounter after the final boss would be defeated.
No X-faction coop is a horrible idea. I never never want to team up with the other faction. We are at war that has been the Star Wars Motif since 78. Altho I did like Fatal Alliance I do not ever want that kind of alliance to happen in this game. That would just be a bad idea all around.
Aw, come on man! I think it would present some very interesting and tense situations… dramatically speaking they could work wonders with this!
I think that there should be cross-faction talking tho for sure. i mean what the hell is stopping me from talking to a jedi, if we’re both human?
I can imagine the Republic and Empire fighting to control or possess an objective, like an ancient space station, that is threatened by an outside force, like an asteroid. It would be great to give players a choice: work together to save the objective and then fight over who gets it, or refuse to work together and no one gets it, because it is destroyed.
The ability to work together shouldn’t just be rare, there should always be an option to refuse.
This should definitely be an option :) I’d certainly like at least one raid/operation based around cross-faction cooperation! :D
