London Calling: The Old Republic Playable In UK April 5

Ever since BioWare’s Stephen Reid Tweeted last night about a special announcement coming Tuesday for UK fans of Star Wars™: The Old Republic™, the entire community has been in a characteristic tizzy about what it might be.

Could it be a release date announcement? Maybe an official start of European Game Testing? A special event in London of some sort? The speculation has run the gamut in this thread on the official forums.

Now we finally know.

Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ will be playable in a special “one-night-only” engagement in London, on April 5, 2011! The event will be held at gamerbase (map), inside HMV at the Trocadero.

This sounds like a tremendous opportunity for UK gamers to get their hands-on the game, but the capacity is extremely limited, and based on reservations/invitations. How can you be included?  Read on!

Admittance to this event will strictly be by INVITE ONLY. If you do not have an invitation YOU WILL NOT BE ADMITTED. Invites are non-transferable and will be issued in your name. To get an invitation, here’s what you need to do:

1) Send an email to bwacommunitysupport AT bioware.com with the subject line “SWTOR at Gamerbase Registration”.

Click here to create an email in your default email program with that subject line.

2) In the email, include the following details:

– Your name as it appears on photo ID (eg driving license or passport; this will be checked at the event)
– Your Forums username
– Your age (YOU MUST BE OVER 18 TO ATTEND)
– Which session you wish to attend (7pm or 9pm)
