Drew Karpyshyn To Pen The Old Republic Novel #3

According to the Random House electronic book catalog, Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ #3 (as it is currently being referred to) is a novel currently scheduled to be released in October of this year, the 18th to be exact.

And, as Jacob from TOR Universe speculated back in September of 2010, none other than Drew Karpyshyn will be the author!

Drew posted some information last week on his blog about his secret project being “done,” so it seems based on the production timeline he provides, this new novel set in The Old Republic is that project!

NJOE stated that the title will be revealed April 15th, and the cover will be revealed in July during ComicCon.

So, with all of these dates being thrown around, do any of them mean anything in relation to the potential release of the game? Would love to hear your thoughts, and don’t forget to put your tinfoil hat on before posting :)

UPDATE: Drew Karpyshyn has now confirmed this on his personal blog.

Thanks to Darth Hater and the New Jedi Order Encyclopedia for sources!

  1. Since PAX was a let down as far as launch speculation, I will not get my hopes up until the fat lady sings as it were. But then again Rift is a lot of fun so I can wait until a fall launch for TOR.

Bioware is really throwing us for a loop here…
With the release of the Guild Systems page, that tells me we could actually be looking at an early Summer release. But this switches things up a little bit. Bioware has stated they will be doing Timeline updates post game launch, but a novel supposedly post launch?
I’m thinking we’re looking at a November release. Which I can be ok with as long as it melts faces.

Sidenote: Great job at PAX guys, you all and Darth Hater got some really good info for us and we appreciate it!

I’m thinking it will be released after the 3rd book. Just in time to buy for a Christmas gift.
