Friday Update – Developer Dispatch & Blood of the Empire #7

Sean just posted today’s updates – 3 of them in total. Issue # 7 of Blood of the Empire is officially out, and a new Developer Dispatch as well, focusing on the music and sounds of Star Wars: The Old Republic:

The emotional experience of Star Wars™ comes to life in new music created exclusively for The Old Republic™. From soft melodies that ring in the forest of Alderaan to the magnificent booming of a battle scene on Ord Mantell, a talented team of composers, musicians and developers came together to create a magical score for the game.
Watch Developer Dispatch: Music of The Old Republic to see what goes into weaving the familiar Star Wars riffs with a new original score. And learn how music impacts the thrilling moments in video games as well as movies.
Music and sound effects are a huge part of both movies and video games, and this is a great look at how important they will be in TOR as well.

Anyone else noticed the Darth in the comic also appeared in the video?

    • Lethality says:

I didn’t notice that on the first run through… grabbing some other interesting screenies of things though. Like the tauntaun!

    • cdstephens says:

I almost wish they would right now release the soundtrack. The music sounds so awesome. I really like how the composers are looking at the game itself and writing music for it.

Loving the weather effects too. Also the flying ships on Ord Mantell, and the speeders.

      JAWAS!

  2. cdstephens says:

Ooh, as a side note, it might be possible that the Tauntaun could be a taxi as well.

  3. SpiteNL says:

I assumed that sort of desert-looking planet was tatooine

  4. Pangscar says:

Pretty sure image 3 is an Inquisitor not a Warrior. 1. He is wearing armor we see concept art of in a past dispatch vid for the Inquisitor.http://i852.photobucket.com/albums/ab90/hdomni12/SInewarmor3.jpg

    2. That Dashade he is talking to appears to be Kim Vaal, a confirmed SI companion.
