Rob Chestney – Q&A and Photos from Threat of Peace Signing

Ask A Jedi team member Brian, who is our man-on-the-ground in Austin, was able to make it down to Austin Books & Comics today to check out the Threat of Peace comic signing with Rob Chestney. Besides the book signing, Rob was also nice enough to chat and try to answer a few questions as well. Since Rob is a writer, we tried to keep the focus on story.

We talked a little bit about what happens after players reach the end of their class story, and he explained how the all class stories will intersect, leading to multiplayer opportunities. Rob answered that one option would be for players to alternately explore another class, since the storylines are all very unique. We also touched on the topic of raiding and he said “absolutely” but was unable to elaborate.

Next, we discussed up the now infamous segment on G4TV during E3 where Dallas Dicknison revealed he preferred the Sith story-lines. Well, we wanted to get a writer’s opinion to set the record straight. Rob says he prefers the Jedi Knight storyline, and is partial to the Jedi Knight and Trooper classes. Also not lost was the fact that he was wearing a Republic t-shirt. So, everyone can rest easy… apparently both factions have great story-lines! Did we expect anything less?

We also managed to slip in a question about Game Testing, and although he didn’t answer directly, we get the impression that very small groups of external Game Testing have indeed started. Again, he didn’t directly confirm it so, do with that what you will.

We wanted to thank Rob for his time tonight,  He’s truly a nice, down-to-earth kind of guy, and we can’t wait to see what he has in store for us in-game. We also wanted to give a shout out to the folks at Austin Books & Comics… it’s truly a 5-star comic shop. Very clean and well-organized, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. If you live in Austin or are visiting, it’s a must-see!
