If you answered yes to any or all of those, BioWare wants to hear from you!

Austin Books will be holding a special Star Wars day this Saturday at their shop, and tweeted some juicy info:

New Warzone Revealed? The Voidstar + Extended Release Into 2012?

German MMO gaming magazine buffed.de has pubished a short preview of The Old Republic in their latest issue, and in the process revealed a new Warzone: The Voidstar

While the piece is understandably entirely in German, our friend Google helps us out on the translation surrounding The Voidstar:

War zones, these are the PvP battle-fields translated in The Old Republic. Long-Up was only one known and that the civil war on Alderaan (more on page 18), but now Bioware still the PvP battlefield”The Voidstar” announced interred, which will provide a Conquestmode. More will follow as we lead designer told PvP month, Gabe.

It seems this may have been some information learned at the recent London press event, as we know Gabe Amatangelo was in attendance.

Part of the translation seems to indicate a “conquest” formatted Warzone.

A potentially more disturbing Google translation would be about the release date:

Star Wars license to the top dog WoW defy? This is the central question as to which moves the community. Expected to achieve appears the sci-fi MMO in the second half of 2011 and no later than early 2012.

Clearly a rough translation… but 2012 is clear. Does that mean that the game will possibly not ship until early next year? We may have almost a year to go, if true.

Facebook Image Of The Week #8

Stardate: -311718.7601154237

Oops, wrong sci-fi universe.

At any rate, it’s Wednesday and BioWare has given us another Facebook Image Of the Week (Number 8, for those keeping track):

High among towering mountain peaks on Alderaan, this settlement shows no obvious signs of the growing political unrest that plagues the planet.

I think this shot really shows off the scale of the structures, much as the recent PAX East Planet video teasers. It appears this is one big game, with big zones!

"Making Of" Book In The Works?

For as much time as we at Ask A Jedi all spend on the forums, I can’t believe this one slipped under the radar.

There is little detail currently available about the 160 page tome, and the link to it on Amazon has been removed (along with the image.) The publisher, listed as Chronicle Books, seems to focus on a different stream of content, but you never know. The book, incidentally, doesn’t show up on their site either. The projected date of availability is November 1, 2011.

While this appears to be a book that will be available from multiple retailers, this is the sort of thing that is usually one of the included perks when you buy a “collector’s edition” of an MMORPG (or any game, in general.)

Here are some retailers who currently have it listed:

I have no doubt everyone reading this would love to have a copy when (if) it comes out. The question is would you buy it separately, or go for the collector’s edition if available?

We’ll see if we can dig up any more info on this lust-worthy item! Stay tuned!

Facebook Image Of The Week #7

Knock, knock. Who’s there? Facebook Image of The Week, that’s who.

Ok, sorry. That was bad.

But this is good! BioWare has released the 7th image in their series of Facebook Images of The Week.

In this screenshot, we get a look inside of the Imperial Agent‘s starship, the X-70B Phantom:

The experimental high-tech systems on the X-70B Phantom require frequent maintenance and diagnostics.

The caption makes us wonder if there might be elements to ship upkeep and customization in the game. What do you think?
