[UPDATED] Times Square TOR Lightsaber Freeze Mob (Video)
With a launch as big as Star Wars: The Old Republic, you need a big stage. And there really isn’t a bigger stage than the Big Apple!
Electronic Arts, BioWare and a whole host of Jedi and Sith descended upon Times Square to congregate, celebrate and commemorate the launch of Star Wars: The Old Republic on December 20th, 2011! As you can see from the gallery below, originally from the Star Wars: The Old Republic Facebook page, it was quite a scene! Darth Malgus was there doing what he does best along side hundreds of other Sith and Jedi.
There was some pretty snazzy signage to be seen in the background as well. From what I can tell, it’s big – but not quite as big as the Collector’s Edition box. It remains to be seen if Malgus will remain in New York to make use of the Ball as a training droid in a few weeks. Stay tuned.
You can view the gallery on the Star Wars: The Old Republic Facebook page, and you should really “Like” it if you don’t already! Enjoy!
[UPDATE] Apparently, this whole shebang was filmed by Electronic Arts, and BioWare has posted in to the official Star Wars: The Old Republic YouTube page. It does NOT disappoint, I may have never seen anything quite as cool before! Embedded here for your convenience.

This most definitely was the party of the century. Too bad I wasn’t there.
