Dark Horse has posted a 6-page preview of the upcoming issue #4 of Star Wars: The Old Republic: The Lost Suns:

Captured by the evil Sith Empire, Republic spy Theron Shan is about to find out what secret sacrifice brought about the end of the great war. But once the Imperial’s covert activities are revealed, will he be able to act on his devastating discoveries?

If you haven’t been following this comic series, you really should. It’s not only well done, but ties in very closely with the game itself!

The Lost Suns – Issue #3 Preview

Following up their preview of Issue #2, Newsarama again scored an exclusive with a 6-page preview of Star Wars: The Old Republic: The Lost Suns Issue #3. The story continues following Theron Shan (son of Jedi Master Satele Shan) in his quest to stop the war from re-igniting.

If you haven’t been following this series, it’s well worth the read even if you aren’t a “comic” fan. And since it’s penned by BioWare Senior Writer Alexander Freed, you get a great taste of some of the storytelling style we’ll see in-game!

SDCC 2011: Dark Horse Star Wars Comics Go Digital

Earlier today, Dark Horse and Lucasfilm made the announcement that many comic fans and Star Wars fans alike have been waiting for – Star Wars comics are now available in digital format!

And of course, that includes The Old Republic: Threat of Peace and The Old Republic: Blood Of The Empire. These titles of course have come full circle, having started as web comics, but now you’ll be able to take them anywhere, including on your iPad or iPhone!

Curiously, the latest Dark Horse Star Wars comic – The Old Republic: Lost Suns is absent from their digital store. The release notes that new titles and backlist titles will be added on a weekly basis, so hopefully we’ll see them soon!

With all of the Comic-Con hoopla stirring up, it only makes sense to take time to pause and reflect on… a comic!

Issue #2 of Dark Horse’s Star Wars: The Old Republic: The Lost Suns is available at comic shops everywhere starting today:

SDCC 2011 Update: Dark Horse And BioWare Panel Announced

As we get closer to San Diego Comic-Con, we’re slowly getting the full picture of what to expect, at least in terms of TOR-related goodness!

Just the other day, we learned that BioWare’s main panel on Star Wars: The Old Republic will be held Thursday, and we now have word that there’s a panel on Saturday with BioWare and Dark Horse, focusing on their collaborations in the comic world:

Dark Horse and BioWare: A Comic and Video Game Partnership— Star Wars: The Old Republic and Mass Effect are creations of one of the most distinguished developers in video games — BioWare! Join Star Wars: The Old Republic senior writer Alexander Freed, Mass Effect 3 lead writer Mac Walters, Mass Effect comics scripter John Jackson Miller, Dark Horse editor Dave Marshall, and a cast of celebrities, as BioWare and Dark Horse announce their next collaboration and reveal exclusive details about the games and comics they’re working on.

The panel will be held in room 23ABC on Saturday, July 23 from 4:00-5:00pm.

Personally, I’d like to see new TOR comics available via their digital channel. Let’s hope that’s in the cards!
