Bounty Hunter Ultimate Walkthrough Video

Don’t look now, but a brand new Star Wars: The Old Republic video cast has burst onto the scene and is beginning to make some waves. It’s understandable that you may have missed it, but there’s no better time than now to start tuning in!

SW:TOR FTW is a regular video cast produced by FTW Broadcasting, that I have to say is quite informative and entertaining. I’ve been following for several weeks, and while their Jedi Knight Ultimate Walkthrough first caught my eye, their latest episode blows the doors off (literally) of anything else out there!

The epic 35+ minute Bounty Hunter Ultimate Walkthrough video covers the Bounty Hunter class from top to bottom, including armor, weapons, Advanced Classes, video and more. Get some popcorn and buckle in:

I’ve been talking with the host of the show, Awall, and he’s been telling me about some amazing things they have planned for the future. You can count on AAJ to begin working very closely with FTW!

Needless to say, if you are a fan of TOR, you’ll wanna check this out! And don’t forget to subscribe to the FTW channel while you’re there to be alerted of the latest episodes as soon as they are available!

Friday Update – Bounty Hunter Armor Progression!

And just like that, we have another armor progression video! This time it’s the Bounty Hunter showing off some very neat tactics and fantastic looks!

This video includes some new monsters, like a huge cyber-saur with an overgrown cranium (For ramming utility or intelligence? The Bounty Hunter didn’t seem to mind.) and some ant-wasp things (and some Kilik‘s) that had a close encounter of the thermo-dynamic kind! Also, our hero Trooper and his Jedi Knight friend from the last video got unceremoniously TKO’d and knifed by new our hyper-aggressive Rattataki friend! So, will there be revenge for the Republic in the next progression video? Only time will tell!

The contrails from his rocket shots against the Gormak in the last battle (right before cranium monster) are on full display and look excellent, which is an amazing amount of detail for something that lasts so briefly. Again, a nice shot of what beefed-up graphics can look like. So…if those are Gormak, is that thing their pet – or a monster on Voss? Or perhaps even a horrible genetic experiment gone awry?

We also got a quick glimpse at something that might have been a 4-person arena style battle, but no idea yet what this might be about.

And millions of Consulars cried out in unision ;)

Friday Update: Bounty Hunter Report + PAX East Details

Today’s update is indeed an “update -and-half” as Stephen Reid promised, as Future Bounty Hunters from around the galaxy rejoiced!

First up, as was widely speculated after IGN’s exclusive Bounty Hunter class video reveal yesterday, is the long-awaired Bounty Hunter class page refresh, bringing it in line with the other updated class pages.

As with each class page update, we now have information about the Bounty Hunter’s known associates (Mako), their starship (Kuat Drive Yards D5-Mantis Patrol Craft), potential species (Rattataki) and of course the defining class video.

Also revealed were the final details for next week’s much anticipated PAX East gaming convention on Boston.

While we already had details on the booth hours and the developer meet & greet, this time around we got the goods: We’ll be able to play a group encounter of the Taral V Flashpoint! This is an “extended gameplay experience” and it will be great for so many players to get so much hands-on time with the game.

In addition to Taral V, the public will be able to get their hands for the first time on the Jedi classes and their homeworld of Tython! In fact, every original world and class will be available for play at the convention.

The TOR Booth (#912) will also be running constant live presentations of the game as well as Q&A sessions with many of the developers, including Lead Designer James Ohlen and Lead Writer Daniel Erickson.

It sounds like TOR will have a huge booth, and be making quite an impact at PAX East, and of course Ask A Jedi will be there bringing it all back to you, while you lounge around at home in your Yoda slippers munching on a Darth Vader grilled cheese sandwich.

The full details of the PAX East festivities can be found here.

Also don’t forget about the SWTOR Community Cantina, where you’ll be able to meet and greet with members of the community and many of your favorite fan sites! This promises to be a great time in the casual confines of an authentic Irish pub! Find out more here.

We truly can’t wait to meet everyone!

IGN Exclusive: Bounty Hunter Class Video and Q&A

It seems that this time around, IGN has been rewarded with a sneak-peak at what is undoubtedly part of this Friday’s official update – the Bounty Hunter Class Video!

We speculate that this also means the Bounty Hunter class page will be getting its long-overdue makeover this week as well.

The video showcases some pretty cool combat abilities, some we’ve seen before but also some new ones. Of particular interest was the way that characters seem to react to knockbacks or explosions… more natural and varied than I recall from earlier videos.

Also, Tusken Raiders!

In addition, there’s also a brand new Q&A with Daniel Erickson and Georg Zoeller:

IGN: As development continues, would you be able to provide any details as to how the Bounty Hunter’s changed? How have his primary skills evolved and what tend to be the most effective skills once a large amount has been unlocked?

Zoeller: Here are some examples of recent changes to the class: the introduction of the Bodyguard skillset which adds a healing and support role to the class [and] the addition of talent choices to create synergy between blasters and tech attacks. There aren’t really ‘most effective’ skills for any class, as what is effective varies between encounters, different builds and whether or not you are in a group or not.

Head on over to IGN to check it out!
