Happy Holidays From Ask A Jedi!

It would be easy to get lost in all of this “TOR has launched hoopla” this week, but… wait a minute. It’s too late. Who are we kidding? We ARE lost in all of the hoopla!

None the less, we decided to log out, and take a minute to wish all of our readers a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday season, no matter what (if anything) you celebrate this time of year. It’s a special time to reflect on the year past and look forward to a new beginning next year.

Ask A Jedi has grown enormously since our launch during E3 in June of 2010. For a while, it was just one passionate, crazy, long-time MMO gamer (me) trying to keep up with it all. But to truly build The Vision™ I had in mind, there was no way I could do it alone.

Thank You

The team we’ve built over the past year or so has allowed Ask A Jedi to start to morph into what it is becoming – and it isn’t finished yet! I just wanted to say thanks to Momus, associate editor and right-hand in all of this. Also thanks for Professor Walsh and Lord Paladin who were there from almost the beginning and are still hanging around some how. Plus all of the awesome contributors who do much more for me than bring their talent to write a column: Zlatto, Kray, Sa’Chi, Lady Republic, TwinHits, Cormeister, Raz, Reedyn, Cealog and ReDDoT. Plus, all of the folks that helped us out in the past but had to move on for one reason or another.

Thanks also to our partners and buds at R2-Db, Enjin, Torhead, TGN and TORWars for supporting us, plus all of the other awesome fan sites, forums and blogs for making the whole TOR web community awesome!

And of course, I need to thank BioWare, LucasArts and Electronic Arts for making an awesome game and allowing us the opportunity to cover it as any media out let would, even though we’re just a ragtag group of gamers with a dream!

I also need to extend an extra special thanks to Greg “Rackham” Moran, who is the talented artist that created the image you see above. He is the creator of The Jedi Gambit, which is hands-down the best TOR-inspired webcomic out there!

But most of all, I wanted to thank all of the readers and fans who have pushed AAJ from meager gaming blog to one of the most respected and highly-trafficked fan sites for Star Wars: The Old Republic! I am humbled every time something happens that makes me realize just how many people are reading the site!

Looking Forward

In 2012, we have a lot of big plans. We intend to push harder toward our original goal of becoming the ultimate go-to news and information site for Star Wars: The Old Republic. If you play the game, we want to give you a reason to visit our site daily, at least once. Whether you are a causal, hardcore, PvE, PvP, social, RP or any other sort of player, we want to be an Outpost for Citizens of The Old Republic!

We hope you have a great holiday season, and we’ll see you in-game (once I finally have some time to get past level 7, that is!)

  5. Lady Republic says:

Happy holidays everyone! I’ll have to be extra good next year so I can appear in the card too! (We’ll say I’m hidden in one of the stockings this year.) :D Of course, I’m sure Momus would say this is because I’m actually one of the lumps of coal….which may or may not be true. ;)

Have a good holiday season everyone, and looking forward to a fantastic 2012!

  6. I like how I am drawn pushing the blind guy so I can get my loot first. It’s like he reads my inner thoughts
