Friday Update: Signs of War, Global Release Date, Operations Page Update, Paris Games Week!

Cry “Havoc!” and let slip the dogs of war…

That is the theme for this Friday’s Trailer-driven update, Signs of War!

As the Treaty of Coruscant dissolves, the galaxy finds itself back on the brink of all out war. Chaos and corruption run rampant, and the mighty armies of both the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire prepare themselves for the inevitable showdown.

In addition, two other welcome changes to the site:

First, the release date has changed! It is now globally the 20th of December, not just in North America. Welcome news for everyone in the world!

Also, there’s been an addition to the Game Systems: the new Operations page, including a tease at more Operations to come!

Operations in Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ are large-scale multi-group missions where you will join your Republic or Imperial allies to confront the most dangerous threats in the galaxy. Each story-driven Operation is available to both factions and is designed to challenge groups of either eight or sixteen players to use their skills, wits, and teamwork to ensure that they successfully complete the mission while still being accessible to newcomers to the genre.

Finally, in what may be the busiest Friday Update yet, we’re provided details of what’s to come at Paris Games Week.

Paris Games Week, held annually in Paris, France, plays host to over 100,000 passionate gamers each year. This year BioWare and LucasArts will be in attendance to give people the opportunity to get some hands-on time with Star Wars™: The Old Republic™! Located inside Hall 3 of the Paris Expo inside of the Portes de Versailles, those who come by our booth will have the opportunity to experience in-game content, including Origin Worlds and Huttball Warzone PvP.

Paris Games Week runs from October 21st to October 25th, with hours from 9:00AM CET until 7:00PM CET, except for Tuesday, October 25th which closes an hour earlier at 6:00PM CET.

The BioWare European Community Team, including European Community Manager Chris Collins and French Community Manager Antonio Moreno, will be hosting a Community Meet & Greet on Friday, October 21st. Be sure to check the forums for the latest details on location and time!
