With all of the excitement associated with gamescom slowly winding down, we can finally relax and… wait. What? When? Sigh… Ok scratch that!
The BioWare crew is currenty en-route from Cologne, Germany direct to Seattle, Washington – no rest for them means no rest for us!
If you can believe it, PAX Prime is already visible on the horizon – it starts this Friday! BioWare and Electronic Arts will both be in attendance, and BioWare will hold a panel on the 28th of August at 2PM PDT, at the Paramount Theater, which is capable of accommodating about 4000 fans. You can read more details about the upcoming weekend on the last Friday’s Update post.
With that in mind, we also got a have an inspiring quote from the EA Q1 2012 Earnings Conference call:
“… In the summer we’re going to be ramping up our beta campaign and by around the time we get to September, we’ll be in a position to call the ball and give the hard ship date.“
A very large chunk of the community believes that we’re going to hear some really big news, so let’s hope they’re right! I personally believe that we are going to finally hear some details about the release of TOR, if not the actual release date. For now, we can only speculate!
We did this for SDCC and gamescom, so why not PAX? Let us know what you think/hope to see out of PAX!

Agreed… I dont think we’ll see a release date, but they almost CAN’T not talk about the beta weekends.
Pretty convinced the NDA is goimg to drop….
I would LOVE to hear the final release date, however, I am really interested in hearing what James Ohlen’s “one other big thing” is. Very exciting time for all the SWTOR fans out there. We’re so close!

We know that there will be a big Companion reveal and I believe there is another big reveal regarding PVP – but what I *really* want is a Crafting Reveal! They have laid the groundwork by listing all of the Crew Skills in that “ninja update”…so…maybe?
I have a feeling it will be one of the biggest “reveal” events yet. So much we have heard in interviews about pvp info, companion info, and most likely beta weekend info.
Legacy system would be great, I would love to hear about that. I hope that its not going to be the release date because we already know roughly when it’s going to be late novemeber or december.

I'm thinking they may actually give us more than just one thing on that list above. (Prehaps it's just wishful thinking left over from dreams…)
But any new info or game footage usually makes my day, so I wouldn't be overly disappointed if we didn't get any of those things.
Of course, I wouldn't be disappointed if I knew when I had to ask work off for a few days either. (I.E. release date.) ;)
I plan on taking some time off after the release to play the game, a concrete date would be nice to give my boss instead of a quote direct from bioware: “I can’t talk about that yet; although were looking for some time during the holiday season.

As cool as it would be to get a set release date, I don’t expect it. I’m already planning on an early November release, coinciding with the Razer products and the Revan novel releasing. I expect more info on Beta Weekends though.
As far as what I really want, I voted for PvP info. To be more specific, world PvP.
I really want to hear about the Beta weekends. I need something to do.
While I would obviously love to finally have a real release date to hold onto, I won’t be holding my breath just yet.

I’d love a definite list of playable races per class. And more info about cyborgs.
I voted other, I think we will get beta weekend info… I hope it’s a release date but I don’t see them make a commitment like that until after they do a large population test on their servers like with the open beta to make sure all goes well

I would just like to find a ticket to PAX! I have been trying the PAX website and I am just not quick enough I guess. I only live 30 minutes away too :(
Well, make sure you come up at least for the Meet & Greet – no PAX ticket required and you can meet and talk to some devs!

A couple of months ago they hinted that the companion characters had an other use, one that would surprise us. But so far they havn’t revealed it. So I hope that we will hear it at PAX.

All i would like to see is the release date even though i am not expecting it at PAX, they will probably wait for the big beta test in september to end before talking about a release date.
Ive read a lot of info and seen a lot of video, at this point all i want is to play the game :), so having a date to expect would be great.
Other than that i guess i could be happy if they show good high lvl group video or good info about crafting.
Release date! FOR SURE! I need a DATE I can look forward to. Not to mention book time off work, stock up on the necessities like munchies, vitamin water, clean sweat pants and energy drinks LOL.
But in all seriousness, I really think it’s time we found out WHEN we will have this game in our hands and on our PCs ready to play
