Friday Update – Bounty Hunter Armor Progression!

And just like that, we have another armor progression video! This time it’s the Bounty Hunter showing off some very neat tactics and fantastic looks!

This video includes some new monsters, like a huge cyber-saur with an overgrown cranium (For ramming utility or intelligence? The Bounty Hunter didn’t seem to mind.) and some ant-wasp things (and some Kilik‘s) that had a close encounter of the thermo-dynamic kind! Also, our hero Trooper and his Jedi Knight friend from the last video got unceremoniously TKO’d and knifed by new our hyper-aggressive Rattataki friend! So, will there be revenge for the Republic in the next progression video? Only time will tell!

The contrails from his rocket shots against the Gormak in the last battle (right before cranium monster) are on full display and look excellent, which is an amazing amount of detail for something that lasts so briefly. Again, a nice shot of what beefed-up graphics can look like. So…if those are Gormak, is that thing their pet – or a monster on Voss? Or perhaps even a horrible genetic experiment gone awry?

We also got a quick glimpse at something that might have been a 4-person arena style battle, but no idea yet what this might be about.

And millions of Consulars cried out in unision ;)

  1. He punched it in the face.

  2. This looks a little ridiculous… they made the BH look completely overpowered.

And yeah… he punched that big thing in the face? got it.

  3. I think Bioware aims to settle the age-old question: If you have to bet on unfolding gravity vibroknife versus rocket punch…BET ON ROCKET PUNCH.

  4. DarthShnooky says:

Rocket punch for the — *punched in the face*

  5. SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! That’s awesome!

(* for all you Kristin Chenoweth fans out there )

  6. Falcon Punch!

  7. An awesome video. But I agree, the portrayal shows the BH is amazingly epic. The end shot with the Jedi getting one-shotted made me pause. However, I’m going to go with artistic license and wait for the game to come out.

Otherwise, I do like these progression videos. Good summary of BW’s vision and they provide me with a taste of what’s to come.

    • Yeah, we probably shouldn’t view these videos as completely accurate representations of combat in TOR. They are, after all, meant as advertising and to showcase one particular class in as positive a light as possible. I wouldn’t put too much money down on Bounty Hunters one-shotting Jedi.

Not to say a BH can’t take a Jedi, just that it is likely to be a bit more interesting than a spike to the face.

  8. Joshua.J says:

I am a little disappointed with the shown top power armor. I was hoping for something a little bulkier and substantial(more in keeping with the idea of unstoppable power armor tank). of course, this may not show the end of the line for either subclass…
